Benjamin O'Fallan Raborg lived a life shaped by the landscapes of the American West. Born in Sulphur Springs, Missouri, he carried the influence of his family into his work, including his uncle, the artist Astley David Middleton Cooper. His brush found its way to the textures of the frontier, focusing on the quiet dignity of landscapes and the presence of portraits. He often turned his attention to American Indians, capturing them within the scenes he composed on canvas.

A Life in Motion
The path of his life took him from the plains of Missouri to the coast of California. He spent his final years in San Francisco, where his life came to an abrupt end in 1918. A cable car accident took his life, leaving behind a body of work that reflects the era of his existence. He is buried in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
