van gogh malte blick auf arles , blühende obstgärten im frühjahr 1889 . es bietet einen blick über einen kanal und die pappeln auf seinem brett in richtung des historischen zentrums von arles , mit den türmen von Saint-Trophime und Notre-Dame-le-major nach links , im gegensatz zum jüngsten bau des kaserns, in dem das zouave-regiment rechts untergebracht ist, hat van gogh dieses gemälde in seine auswahl von werken aufgenommen, die in les xx ausgestellt werden sollen , in brüssel 1890 .
