ceci est l'un des premiers travaux de giorgione . le sujet a été pris des antiquités juives par josephus ( 2 . 9 : 7 ) Moïse a été adopté par Pharaoh's fille . un jour à la cour, pharaon plaça en plaisantant sa couronne sur la tête de l'enfant moïse qui la jeta immédiatement au sol et la piétina . cela a été pris comme un présage par les courtisans que moïse renverserait pharaon . Pour le tester , deux plats ont été apportés , l'un contenant du charbon de mensonge et les autres cerises . Moïse , guidé par un ange , a choisi les charbons et les a mis dans sa bouche qui a été brûlée . Il a ainsi été prouvé innocent de toute intention de trahison .
