Flora and the Zephyrs (1897) is an oil painting by the English Pre-Raphaelite painter John William Waterhouse. Flora was the Roman goddess of flowering plants. The Zephyr was the wind from the West. Zephyrus was the god of the West Wind, and dwelt with his brother wind, Boreas, in a palace in Thrace. He was father of the immortal horses, Xanthus and Balius, Achilles' battle steeds who galloped with the speed of wind.
