"The altare maggiore italiano di ugolino di nerio per santa croce , la grande chiesa francescana di firenze , è well-documented . Con almeno thirty-five sezioni in tutto , questo enorme altare fu dipinto ed eretto c . 1325-30 . Questi pannelli ricordano Duccio's senso dello stile e dell'organizzazione , poiché ugolino stava ancora lavorando con la linea e il colore bizantini . L'altare fu smantellato poco dopo 1566 e passato al church's dormitorio . Dal 1830s , la maggior parte del suo pannello era stato venduto .
