die solly madonna des italienischen renaissancekünstlers raphael wurde irgendwo dazwischen gemalt 1500 und 1504 . Eine frühe arbeit , es zeigt deutlich den einfluss von Raphael's lehrer perugino . zwei motive in dieser arbeit würden in späteren madonnen von raphael wiederkehren . die jungfrau maria liest ein buch , wie in der madonna und dem kind im norton simon museum , die connestabile madonna , die madonna colonna und die madonna del cardellino . Wie in diesem letzten gemälde ist ein kleiner vogel teil der szene . das gemälde befindet sich in der gemäldegalerie , Berlin . es heißt solly madonna, weil es dem britischen bankier und kunstsammler edward solly gehörte ( 1776–1848 ) .
