bethsabée à son bain ( ou bethsabée avec le roi David's Lettre ) est une peinture à l'huile de l'artiste hollandais rembrandt ( 1606–1669 ) terminé en 1654 . Une représentation à la fois sensuelle et empathique , il montre un moment de l'histoire de l'ancien testament dans lequel le roi david voit bathsheba se baigner et , ravi , la séduit et l'imprègne . afin d'épouser bethsabée , David envoie son mari au combat et ordonne à ses généraux de l'abandonner , le laissant à une mort certaine . alors que la scène de david espionnant bethsabée avait été peinte par des artistes antérieurs , Rembrandt's la description diffère par sa concentration picturale serrée et sa vitalité érotique , atteint grâce à une large , touches épaisses et coloration vibrante .
