One of the seven bronze busts representing Presidents of the Republic, made by Nicolina Vaz de Assis (1874-1941), in the collection of the Museum of the Republic. Born in Campinas (SP), Nicolina was one of the first Brazilian women to make a career as a sculptor. She was a student at the National School of Fine Arts (Rio) and at the Julien Academy (Paris).
