Biography:

Adelhog, also known as Adelog, was a bishop of Hildesheim, Germany. He served as bishop from 1171 to 1190. During his tenure, he was responsible for the minting of silver coins, including the Medieval Coin (Hildesheim: Adelhog) which features a crutch-type cross surrounded by ornaments and lily stalks. Adelhog was born in Hildesheim, Germany in 1170 and died in 1190.
