Arai Kōu was a Japanese artist who was active in the early 20th century. He is known for his work in ink, color, and gold on silk, and is best known for his painting 'Female Chanter for Jōruri Puppet Theater', which was created in 1920. He is considered to be a significant artist of the Taishō period (1912-1926).
