Bhenji Ra is a transdisciplinary artist based in Sydney, Australia. Her practice combines dance, video, illustration, and community activation, and is deeply informed by her identity as a trans person of Filipino descent. Ra's work often dissects and challenges societal norms and power structures. She is a member of the art collective Club Ate, which she co-founded with Justin Shoulder. Ra is also known for her involvement in the historic ballroom scene and her role as a founder of the Sissy Ball in Sydney. She has exhibited and performed at various institutions, including the Biennale of Sydney, the National Gallery of Australia, and Artspace Visual Arts Centre.
