El Anatsui is a Ghanaian sculptor who has spent much of his achievement-packed career living and working in Nigeria. He is best known for his bottle-top installations, which consist of thousands of aluminum pieces sourced from alcohol recycling stations and sewn together with copper wire. These installations are transformed into metallic cloth-like wall sculptures, which are free and flexible, often helping with manipulation when installing his sculptures. Anatsui was included in the 2023 Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.
