Francisco Brennand, also known as Francisco de Paula de Almeida Brennand, was a Brazilian painter and sculptor, best known for his work in ceramics. He was born in Recife, Brazil in 1927 and died in 2019. The artist lived and worked in isolation in his workshop in a neighborhood away from Recife. He broke the silence at the age of 80 to reveal the secrets of his art and his life inside his ceramic workshop in the documentary film 'Francisco Brennand' (2012).
