Tiểu sử:

Jan Luyken, also known as Johannes Luiken, was a Dutch poet, illustrator, and engraver born in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1649. He died in Amsterdam in 1712. Luyken was a child prodigy who learned engraving from his father Kaspar Luyken. At the age of 26, he converted to the Mennonite church, which inspired him to write moralistic poetry. Luyken illustrated the 1685 edition of the Martyrs Mirror with 104 copper etchings and published Het Menselyk Bedryf ('The Book of Trades') in 1694. His works have been admired by various individuals, including Joris-Karl Huysmans' anti-hero Des Esseintes in À rebours.
