S.K. Rajavelu was an Indian artist born in 1941 in Chennai, India. He died in 2015. He was a graduate of the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Madras in 1963 and was a Government of India Cultural Scholar under KCS Paniker in 1963-64 and a National Scholar under NS Bendre at MS University in 1964-66. He was a member of the Cholamandal Artists' Village in Chennai. His work has been exhibited in India and internationally, and he has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the arts. His paintings often depict scenes of everyday life in India, with a focus on the human figure and the natural environment. He is known for his use of vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, as well as his ability to capture the mood and atmosphere of his subjects. His work is held in numerous private and public collections, including the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi and the Cholamandal Artists' Village in Chennai.
