Ip Man, also known as Yip Man-yam, was a Chinese martial artist and teacher, born in Foshan, China in 1893. He was a grandmaster of the Wing Chun style of martial arts, and is best known as the teacher of Bruce Lee. Ip Man's life has been the subject of several films, including the Ip Man series, which has helped to popularize Wing Chun around the world. Ip Man died in 1972.
