Hendricks worked consistently as a photographer beginning in the mid 1960s, and while at Yale University from 1970-1972 he studied with the acclaimed photographer Walker Evans.“Wonder Woman” was taken in Durham, North Carolina in 1978 while Hendricks was there for the American Dance Festival.
