1948年,飞利浦为菲利沙夫号提出了新的设计,取了"蛋"的外号. 剃发机有一个由象牙色塑料制成的卵形手持相机,并有单相剃发头和内置电动机. 为了加快剃须过程,这一设计在1951年被更新为第二个剃须头. 这些由非常薄的温带钢制成,并有多个窄槽供面发粘穿. 后来又出现了另一个改进:弹簧装入的剃发头.
