唐殷是武仙(今江苏苏州)人,在1498年的省民考中先出道,但在一年后考试舞弊后被全部剥夺爵位. 以官制为一死之地,他回国后以绘画和书法为生. 擅长诗歌,绘画和书法,曾与朱云明,文正明,徐 Zh等同为"吴四位文学才子"之一;与沈 Zhou,文正明,邱 Y等同为"四位画大师"之一. 这卷由20首诗组成的卷轴是给书法家朋友顺生,即曾为诗人批评和书画收藏家的朱成儒. 至于这些诗歌本身,与书法家出版的版本存在明显的差异. 从这些更正中可以明显看出,这些更正只是草案,可能是为了征求朱成柱的意见而抄录到这里的,这是过去中国文学界中并不罕见的做法。 虽然没有日期,但可以推断出这卷卷轴是1519年后根据"庆祝我的五十周年"一诗所写的,这首诗基本上整洁而庄严. 该卷轴被认为是一个有价值的参考文献,可以窥见唐人多样化的艺术渊源. 这部后期作品所见出的整体精湛让人回想起王希之和赵孟福,而巧妙的圆通,颜正清. 启示了诗人-书法家晚年的书法作风和他对诗作构成的勤奋态度,这卷卷卷作为他诗作中许多书法作品中的一出特别出名,时至今日都能看到.
