1939年8月,徐碧红在油画"母亲与女儿"中将曾菊芝夫人和女儿画成一幅. 曾菊芝(生年不详)毕业于上海美术学校,后去法国留学. 1935年初夏,她主张在新加坡创办"中国艺术家会",最初由上海美术学校,新中国艺术大学,上海艺术大学的校友组成,居住在新加坡. 该学会最初名为“Salon艺术研究协会”,只有几十名成员。 后来,由于会员范围过窄,该组织在社会上没有起显著作用. 1935年11月17日,该会召开会员会. 它取消了对会员的限制,并将“正直的品德和对艺术的兴趣”的中国青年置于其中。 更名为“新加坡中国艺术研究会 ” ( Singapore Chinese Art Research Society), 其使命变成了“学习艺术、与情感相接并美化社会 ” 。 首任会长为曾菊芝. 该会举办了许多大型展览会,为新加坡艺术的发展做出了贡献. 帮助徐北鸿的展览是1939年初的一项关键项目,徐来使新加坡的艺术活动更加频繁活泼. - 华天雪
