与董克昌,米万忠和邢通等同为"后明四大名将",出自福建晋江(今泉州)的张瑞图被后人以书法成就而非杰出生涯而怀念. 四人中,只有张作霖的名声归功于"咒语"剧本. 以目前的卷轴为例,角弯而不是圆弯是书法家成熟风格的决定性特征. 虽然这纯粹是张作霖自己发明的,是对书法传统的大胆不遵从,但在个性时尚时尚的时候却有异国情调. 最近的一项研究表明,为此目的使用的简化刷子方法是因为需要迅速接受从支付赞助人或其他方面提出的大量要求。 值得指出的是,许多这类作品,有时是草率地完成的,都是未注明日期的悬挂卷轴,未指明接收者。 作品正文为明文学偶像李孟阳所创作的"汉景平"("汉都")一诗,反思了汉族政要的衰落. 之所以选它,可能是因为它暗示了一个政治动荡的时代,而这个时代与书法家的时代并不相去甚远,因为就在前一年的几个月里,君主被换了三次。
