赵勇生于胡州,是赵孟福的次子. 也以礼相取名通穆. 赵勇是负责搜集和组织经典作品的政府部门"学者所"(jixianuan)的备用顾问(daizhi). 后出任湖州卢县一等副县长. 承接他家族的书法和绘画传统,赵勇擅长地貌绘画并继承了董元的作风. 他特别擅长绘画人物和马匹,模仿了曹巴和韩甘的作风;他所画的画笔下有兰花和竹子是圆的,光滑的,不受约束的. 在书法方面,他擅长平时的脚本,跑行的脚本,咒语脚本,和文秘的脚本,以清新而有力的触摸为特色.
