Miller’s most well-known works are part of the Blue Plate Special series. He creates giant glass versions of classic American foods—donuts, corn dogs, Buffalo wings, and curly fries. CB w/ L, T and pickles and EAT were selected exclusively for the Chrysler’s collection. Nothing could be more American than a cheeseburger with fries and an icy cola. The work is part of homage to Miller’s travels across America, and the inspiration he derives from hanging out at the nation’s local diners, drive-ins and dives. Although glassmaking on this scale requires tremendous skill, he successfully balances the intensity of the process with a healthy sense of humor. For Miller, fun is the key ingredient to cooking up the most delicious dish of art. 2012.6
