Blick auf den Hafen von Barcelona aus dem Stadtteil Barceloneta. Rechts sehen wir das Bürogebäude des alten Hafenmeisters und das Leuchtturm des Hafens. Im Zentrum der Komposition hat der Künstler das gemischte Dampfsegelgefäß die Comillas (1869-1890) [vorher die Infanta Isabel (1863-1868)] gemalt. Die Comillas wurde 1863 auf der Denny Werft in Dumbarton (Scotland) gebaut. Erbaut, um die Linie Santander-Puerto Rico-Havana zu segeln, links von Santander am 15. jedes Monats. 1891 wurde er für Schrott verkauft. Es wurde verwendet, um Soldaten nach Kuba zu transportieren.
