"Die Brücke", auf vergoldetem Leder gemacht, teilt das horizontale Format und die dünne Farbanwendung von "The Smuggler's Cove" (09.58.2). Diese Panorama-Landschaft soll Fragmente der New Yorker Landschaft kombinieren, die Ryder gewusst hätte: ein bisschen der Skyline aus dem Central Park und der High Bridge, die den Harlem River überspannt. Trotz dieser möglichen Verweise auf bestimmte Seiten ist "The Bridge" immer noch imaginativ und nicht buchstäblich. Seine Ablösung vom Erscheinungsbild der Natur freut sich auf einen modernistischen Ansatz zur Bildgestaltung.
