In seiner imposanten Darstellung des Sonnblick-Gebirges, einschließlich eines eilenden Wasserfalls und Kolm Saigurn, zeigt Loos überzeugend die elementare Natur der Hochalpengebiete und der in ihnen aktiven Naturkräfte. Loos' Manier zeigt ihn als Pionier der realistischen Landschaftsmalerei. Jedoch führt die traditionelle barocke Vordergrundlandschaft mit romantischisierenden Personalzahlen in die heroisch idealisierte expansive bildliche Komposition.
