Dieser in Anton Kothgassers Werkstatt gemalte Becher ist ein für Biedermeier in Wien typisches Glas. Dünnwandige Becher mit Emaille Malerei wurden beliebte Geschenke und Souvenirs der Zeit des Kongresses Wien. Ab 1811 verfeinerte Gottlob Mohn Emaille Malerei, praktiziert von seinem Vater Samuel in Dresden, in Wien. Anton Kothgasser, Porzellanmaler der Manufaktur Wien, trat mit ihm zusammen, indem er Motive aus Porzellanmalerei auf Glas feststellte: Vedutas, Blumen, Tiere, Embleme, Portraits – auch von Prinzen und Generalen – erschienen ab 1812 auf Gläsern sowie Porzellantassen, die als Souvenirs verkauft wurden.
