Arthur Merric Bloomfield Boyd AC OBE wurde 1920 in Murrumbeena, Victoria, Australien geboren und 1999 in Melbourne, Victoria gestorben. Boyd war Maler, Keramiker und Drucker und Teil einer künstlerischen Familie. Boyd und seine Familie lebten von 1959 in England, bevor sie 1971 nach Australien zurückkehrten und schließlich in einem Grundstück namens Bundanon auf dem Shoalhaven River in der südöstlichen Küstenregion von New South Wales einrichten. Dies ist eine von vielen Arbeiten, die sich auf seine Zeit im Besitz von Bundanon beziehen, die er und seine Frau Yvonne 1993 dem australischen Volk geschenkt haben.
