Diese Studie zeigt Valmondois, ein Dorf am Oise River, nicht weit von Daubignys Heimat in Auvers. Der Schlüssel zum Standort ist die Sandgrube und die Gitter in der mittleren Entfernung; sie erscheinen in mehreren der Valmondois Studien, von denen das vorliegende Bild das früheste Beispiel ist.
