Diese kleine Kopie nach einer Leinwand von Francesco Bassano von etwa 1575 (Kunsthistorisches Museum, Wien) wurde als Modell für eine gravierte Platte in Teniers Theatrum Pictorum (Antwerp, 1658), sein Katalog von 229 italienischen Gemälden in der Sammlung von Archduke Leopold Wilhelm, Gouverneur der spanischen Niederlande von 1646 bis 1656. Bis 1740 besaßen die Dukes von Marlborough 120 von Teniers Panels für das Projekt, einschließlich dieses.
