Dieses Gemälde wird von einem gleichnamigen Gemälde von Annibale Carracci, einem italienischen Barockmaler, inspiriert. Dieses Gemälde wurde 1986 zum Preis von 1,6 Millionen Franken bei der Auktion gekauft. Nach ihrer Ausstellung in der Galerie wurde sie jedoch als echtes Gemälde von Poussin anerkannt und dem ursprünglichen Verkäufer zurückgegeben, der den Preis auf über 15 Millionen Euro erhöhte. Das Louvre und das Museum der Schönen Künste in Lyon konnten endlich genug Geld anheben und das Gemälde 2007 mit dem Endpreis von 17 Millionen Euro erwerben. Es befindet sich jetzt im Museum der Schönen Künste in Lyon.
