Cattaro ist eine mittelalterliche Stadt, die früher in Jugoslawien, jetzt Montenegro. Lear erreichte Cattaro durch Dampfer von Periato, um Meilen entlang der Bergstraßen zu gehen, der Künstler beschrieben als "wild Zickzacking". In seinem Tagebuch, Lear beschrieben Cattato als
