Eugenio Lucas Velázquez war ein spätromanischer Maler und Schüler an der Madrider Akademie, kwon als persönlicher Nachfolger von Velázquez und Goya, vor allem in seinen Gemälden auf Leinwand. Doch in seinen Zeichnungen zeigen Sie uns andere unterschiedliche Stile –abstrakt oder realistisch – und Themen: Stadtlandschaften, Landschaften oder Genre. Diese Aussicht von Venedig wurde während einer Reise im Sommer 1868 entlang der Küste von Frankreich, Monaco, Italien und der Schweiz gemacht.
