Die Spitze der Austerlitz-Säule wird von der Bronzestatue von Napoleon Bonaparte dominiert. Dieser Druck, der ein Bild der Gedenkspalte der Schlacht von Austerlitz bieten soll, repräsentiert wirklich nur den Kaiser oben auf seinem Sockel. Bonaparte erscheint in seinem besten Licht, gekleidet in seine Uniform, Schwert an seiner Taille und trampling auf Kanonenkugeln. Diese Darstellung des Mythos des Helden-Martyrers Napoleon soll jedoch dem Volk nahe stehen, da es von populären Liedern begleitet wird. Es ist diese Art von Druck, der die Napoleonische Legende schmiedet und zu einer wahren Verehrung des französischen Volkes führt.
