Giovanni Battista Birago (1738-1822), ein österreichischer Soldaten, erreicht den Rang von Major (und in der Malerei trägt er seine Uniform). In seinem Willen gründet er seine Frau Cristina Croce, die für die Ospedale Maggiore reichlich Legacies bereitstellt. Er hatte geheiratet, seinen Bruder zu respektieren.
