Dragoons 1850 zeigt Pre-Cavalry US-Truppen im Westen, die mit dem Feind des Tages kämpfen: die Indianer der westlichen Territorien. Das Pferd in der Führung scheint ein Militärpferd zu sein (Anmerkung der Steigbügel), das von den Native Americans erworben wurde, wie durch das Büffelhäuschen auf der Rückseite des Reiterlosen Pferdes angedeutet.
