Von allen Anhängern von Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783–1853), dem Gründerväter des Goldenen Zeitalters der dänischen Malerei, widmete sich nur Petzholdt ausschließlich der Landschaft. Obwohl die genaue Lage dieser kleinen Sicht nicht festgestellt wurde, wurde sie offensichtlich in Deutschland gemalt, wo der Künstler 1829 und wieder im Folgejahr skizzierte.
