Ranuzio ist Bianca Stampa di Soncinos Ehemann und präsentiert hier seinen Sohn als Erben zu seinem Namen und seiner Geselligkeit. Die Kleidung und der Stuhl sind hier eleganter und wichtiger als im vorherigen Gemälde. Ranuzio hatte wichtige Aufgaben mit Napoleons Ankunft in den Dukedomen, wurde erste Senatorin des Reiches und dann Berater für Mary Louise von Österreich. Er war ein Schirmherr, besonders für Gemälde – er bestellte Landi Das Treffen zwischen Hector und Andromache und Hetor reproachet Paris (jetzt auf der Gazzola Art Istitute von Piacenza) – und auch für Musik, die dem lokalen Komponisten Niccolini helfen.
