Während der Ausgrabungen der römischen Stadt Baelo, die von Pierre Paris und Jorge Bonsor durchgeführt wurde, zeichnete letztere diesen Plan der Innenfassade des Osttores, gegenüber der von Bonsor selbst ausgegrabenen Nekropolis. Die im Jorge Bonsor Fonds gehaltenen Zeichnungen auf Baelo sind von besonderer Bedeutung, da das gesamte Dokumentarmaterial, das von den Archäologen von Pierre Paris in Baelo produziert wurde, bei den Kämpfen in der Universitätsstadt Madrid zu Beginn des Spanischen Bürgerkriegs im Feuer an der School of Hispanic Studies verloren ging.
