Giorgione zeigt die gefeierte Geschichte der Weisheit Salomos in einem von zwei Anhängerbildern. Der große König hat erklärt, dass das lebende Kind - literarisch - geteilt zwischen den Frauen, die ihn behaupten. Die Mutter des Babys wird das Kind zedieren, anstatt ihn sterben zu sehen. Eine bedeutungsvolle Figur, Giorgione machte seltsame Werke: hier nimmt die Landschaft mehr als die Hälfte des Panels ein.
