Der Pantheon, gewidmet allen Göttern, wurde von dem Kaiser Hadrian (117-138) zwischen 118 und 128 gebaut, um einen Tempel von Marcus Agrippa gewidmet in 27 BC zu ersetzen. Hadrian, mit charakteristischen Takt, verließ das Gut Agrippa in der Inschrift auf dem Tempel
