Die Miniatur ist im Deckel einer Elfenbein-Rundbox mit goldenen Halterungen und Futter, hergestellt von Guillaume Denis Delamotte (geboren 1725, Meister 1756, arbeiten 1793) in Paris 1775. Die Box trägt die Pariser Ladungs- und Entladungsmarken für 1775–81. Als die Miniatur im Metropolitan empfangen wurde, wurde sie als Werk eines unbekannten britischen Künstlers beschrieben. 1978 hat Hermione Waterfield es Hull zugeschrieben. Die Methode der Ausführung ist im Einklang mit anderen unterzeichneten Miniaturen von ihm. Diese kann bis etwa 1790.
