Lais von Corinth von Hans Holbein the Younger porträtiert die berühmte Lais von Corinth, eine Höflichkeit von altem Griechenland, die einen hohen Preis für ihre Gunst berechnet. Es wurde vorgeschlagen, dass Holbein sich auch auf die Lais bezieht, die der Liebhaber von Apelles war, der große Maler der Antike (Holbein wurde "Apelles" in humanistischen Kreisen genannt). Das Modell, das gleiche für Holbeins Darmstadt Madonna und für seine Venus und Amor verwendet, wurde als Magdalena Offenburg identifiziert, die Holbeins Geliebte gewesen sein könnte.
