Eine Porträtzeichnung von Sir John Godsalve (c.1505-56). Ein halblanges Portrait mit drei Vierteln nach rechts. Er trägt einen Pelzkragen, schwarzes Kleid, blaue Ärmel und hält einen Brief. Beschriftet in einer achtzehnten Jahrhundert Hand an der oberen linken und linken Seite des Ohres: Sr Iohn Godsalue. S John Godsalue. John Godsalve wurde erstmals 1528 von Holbein neben Sir Thomas Godsalve, seinem gut vernetzten Vater (Gemäldegalerie, Dresden) porträtiert. Aus dem scheinbaren Alter des Sitters kann das Porträt bis in die frühen Jahre des Künstlers datiert werden
