Eine Figur, die einen langen Mantel und eine schwarze Kappe trägt, steht neben einem Tisch. Er untersucht eine blau/weiße Vase, die gerade aus einer Kiste entpackt wurde. Oben rechts ist ein Wandregal mit weiteres Beispiel des Porzellans. Das Thema ist dargestellt mit einem K’ang Hsi (1662-1722) Porzellan-Ingwerglas mit ähnlichem Porzellan im Hintergrund; diese Wares wurden ernsthaft in den 1870er & 1880er Jahren gesammelt.
