Um 1715, Watteau malte seine Anhänger Die Cascade (Privatsammlung) und The Country Dance (Huntington Library and Museum, Pasadena) in rechteckiger Form, aber um die Mitte der 1780er Jahre wurden beide auf Runden geschnitten. Irgendwann vor den 1820er Jahren schuf ein unbekannter Maler diese Kopien von Watteaus Originalen.
