Joaquín Gonzalo und Tarín (Teruel, 1838 – La Granja, Segovia, 1910) war ein Bergbauingenieur, der sich auf mikroskopische petrographie und stratigraphie spezialisierte. Er nahm an der Kommission für die Geologische Karte von Spanien teil, wobei er sich insbesondere auf das Bergbaugebiet Huelva konzentrierte, das zur Schaffung seines bedeutendsten Werkes führte: eine physikalische, geologische und Bergbau-Übersicht der Provinz Huelva (1886–88). Diese Arbeit ist für die Untersuchung von Geographie und Bergbau in der Provinz Huelva im späten 19. Jahrhundert sehr wertvoll, als die Bergbauproduktion ihren Höhepunkt erreichte.
