Die drei Töchter des ehrwürdigen Percy Wyndham, ein wohlhabender Londoner, erscheinen in dieser monumentalen Leinwand. Von links sind sie Madeline Adeane (1869–1941), Pamela Tennant (1871–1928) und Mary Constance, Lady Elcho (1862–1937). Sargent malte sie im Salon ihrer Familie auf dem Belgrave Square. An der Wand oben gesehen ist George Frederic Watts Porträt ihrer Mutter (Privatsammlung), die ihre Genealogie begründet und die Zuschauer an Sargents Verbindungen zu älteren Künstlern erinnert. Die Wyndham-Schwestern wurden 1900 an der Royal Academy von den Kritikern gefilmt und vom Prince of Wales „The Three Graces“ gegraben.
