Ophelia (1910) ist ein Ölgemälde des englischen Pre-Raphaelite Malers John William Waterhouse. Ophelia ist die Tochter von Polonius, Schwester zu Laertes, und verworfen Liebhaber von Hamlet in Shakespeares Tragödie Hamlet. Ophelia ist ein Symbol der Unschuld, die verrückt geworden ist. Eine dutiful Tochter, sie wird manipuliert auf Hamlet und muss seine demütigenden und brutalen Bemerkungen tragen. Die Lieblingsthemen des Wasserhauses waren Ophelia. Er mag von Gemälden von Ophelia von Dante Gabriel Rossetti und Millais inspiriert worden sein.
