José Casado del Alisal produzierte diese kleine Skizze 1880. Es gibt drei bekannte vorbereitende Skizzen für das Gemälde. Das Layout der Szene unterscheidet sich in zwei von ihnen, aber das dritte, im Huesca Museum gehalten, entspricht der endgültigen Zusammensetzung des Malers. Es zeigt, wie die Architektur die Szene umrahmt, und der Abstand des Endstücks, aber nicht die Figuren, die durch Farbnebenheiten dargestellt sind. Es verwendet auch viel dunklere Töne als die endgültige Version.
